2 weeks from the accident.
Today's P.T. - I'll just give you the milestones for the day.
-- we sat Jordan up an Dad was able to give his back a good rubdown. I'm sure it's been in need of that for a while
-- we put Jordan's hospital socks on with rubber traction dots on the bottom. We stood him up and he did 5 sit/stand exercises. The balance wasn't there but the strength to push up was more than I expected. The PT decided that since we had him up we should see if he could make the movements of walking. He did 2 steps on each side with enough strength to keep standing as long as we kept his balance.
We had our first visitor to test Jordan's ability to handle friends so we had Elliott Dungan (gymnastic teammate) come by to have some time. Elliott did a great job learning the new way we need to talk with Jordan and handled it like a pro. When it was time to go we prompted Jordan to go the handshake the team does with the coaches before they leave. He and Elliott did it together which shows he remembers it.
Later on we have one of his close friends from school Abby coming by to spend some time as well.
I think we are fine having more of his friends over but we would like the parents to call and schedule these visits please.
So the plan moving forward. . .
It seems that everyone is getting on the same page as to what Jordan needs for rehab so here's the plan if nothing changed.
-- Next Thursday Jordan will have his skull bone replaced.
-- one da in ICU
-- 4 to 6 days recovering in hospital
-- ship out to Acute Rehab
If Jordan "Keeps Moving Forward" like he has been if will pug him in a better position to handle the amount of awake time he will need for Acute Therapy.
That's it got now.
