Week 1 of Summer Break!
Proud to inform you all that both Jordan and Tara finished school on the A/B Honor rolls. Considering the year we have all been through, John and I couldn't be happier.
We also had our one year follow up with Dr. Schmidt ( neurosurgeon) who let us know all is looking good with Jordan's skull. ..no signs of resorbtion (bone shrinkage) which can sometimes be an issue with children. The brain is probably to its max healing point but the rewiring will continue gradually as we work with Jordan in the various areas.
Best news is along with the neuro update we were cleared to return to gymnastics and Gymcats!!! Two sessions into it and his instructor is quite impressed by his muscle memory and Dad and I are surprised by the strength he is showing in his upper body, left side in particular. .
We are excited at the possibilities the Summer break will bring to Jordan with the respite of a long school day. The last week of school I enrolled him in Kumon.A school that focuses on math and reading...for now we are particpating in math to improve Jordan's recall and auto response and may add in reading a bit later.
I shall continue to read with him and have picked up books 2 and 3 from the series they were studying at the end of the year to keep up continuity and comprehension......
So ....... we have a plan and here we go!!!
I shall keep you posted throughout Summer with our progress. Have a great Break!!
