So , Spring Break came and went , much to the dismay of my children, but "fear not" ,only 38 more days of school til Summer vacation.....
We had a most successful week off. The first couple of days were spent chilling out and we began getting Jordan back to the elliptical with a little more intensity. ..adding a couple more minutes each day as well as spending 30-45 minutes in the studio per day working core, arms, chest, full body stability and stretching.
Come Wednesday both Jordan and Tara were becoming restless so the friend dates were put in place. Tara "disappeared" for a day and a half with an extended playdate / sleepover and met up with Jordan and I the following day for bowling along with a friend each to make it more fun. There was swimming at the multigen , Gymcats party to catch up.with Jordan's teammates and a Spring Festival in our local Harmony park complete with face painter, petting zoo, horse and carriage ride, cotton candy and the Easter Bunny to kick off an Egg hunt!!!. Quite a busy schedule to finish us up before a lovely Easter Sunday at Grandma's and Aunt Casey's.
Back to school and routine with the exception of Jordan's school starting the new SBAC exams . This meant a modified schedule and some early outs for Jordan. We were also able to add in some extended walks around our block with Shasta... who was very patient and mindful to keep Jordan's pace . Happy to report Jordan experienced no discomfort/pressure throughout, even after walking 0.8 mile last Friday!!
He is still staying true to the pact we made to workout extra on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to build up his strength and flexibility even though he would love a day off. At the risk of sounding bias , I have to say I am SO proud of him ... he is no quitter and so neither am I.
We went today (Sunday 12th) to a Pirate Regatta in which some of John's crew had built a cardboard boat to compete. It was a great design and sailed extremely well and the kids had a fun time. It was like a mini Halloween - we all got in the spirit and dresssed up as pirates and soaked up some good old fashioned vitamin C.
That brings you up to date with everything we have had going on, so on that note I shall bid you all a Good Evening and wonderful week ahead
