That's right & I am not referring to American Idol or The Voice but rather something far more exciting ....... Jordan's homecoming 😀😀😀
Busy last days indeed.John mentioned yesterday about the two procedures that took place this morning...,the botox injections & the MRI. Once sedated both went well & i met Jordan in recovery just about an hour and a half after they knocked him out. We won't get results of the MRI til Wednesday or Thursday to compare to the previous one taken before we left Sunrise, which is fine because both John & I would like to be present when the Doctor goes over it. Immediate results of the botox shots look positive, especially with the left leg but I was told the lingering anesthesia could contribute to the relaxed condition of the muscles also. Tomorrow will probably tie us a better gauge to go on.
Therapy was a little off kilter today because of the morning schedule but we still managed to fit in speech & PT. Jordan is now working on the elliptical & it seems to have an immediate response to his muscles & how they work for a short time following. we hope to build this time up & with it extend the effects til they become his regular muscle memory patterns again.
He also repeated the "standardized testing" today which consists of climbing flights of stairs, " up & go" , which begins seated ,stands ,walks to a designated marker , turns around & returns to original seated position & a "functional reach test" which has Jordan standing & literally reaching along a tape measure to as far along as he can keep his balance. All the results were approximately half the time as before & double the "reach" span from the first testing!!! Not too shabby I'd say.
Tomorrow will be back to three full sessions , possibly some school time & maybe a little extra PT if we can squeeze it in.
